Fifty Years!

Summer,1958 - a young dentist named Bill Nequette opened his "hole in the wall" office on Greenfield Avenue in New Berlin, with cows still grazing across the street. Bill combined a desire for excellence with great care and compassion for patients, and the result was a dental practice that has grown and prospered for fifty years.

While there are certainly other practices that have been around that long, most of them are multi-generational family operations. William Nequette & Associates (now called Greenbrook Dentistry) is different in that over the years, it has drawn together a diverse group of professionals with a shared vision of providing excellent care for people of all ages and all walks of life. At Greenbrook, what is best for the patient always comes first, followed by what is best for the practice as a whole. The individual dentists come last, and we're fine with that.

This was Bill's way. He shared his knowledge, skills, and experience with his associates every day. His unselfish approach attracted others who were so inclined, and the result has been the development of a collegial and sharing group of dentists. Such groups are truly rare, and it has been my privilege to be a part of the practice for forty (counting student lab tech days) of those fifty years. We have succeeded through the loyalty of thousands of patients, and we are so grateful that they have allowed us to serve them. We are equally grateful to the hundreds of friends and colleagues in dentistry who have referred patients to our practice over the last half-century.

We invite everyone to share in our celebration. We're serving lemonade and cookies in the reception room throughout the summer, and our banners proudly proclaim the milestone. We also threw ourselves a swell party at the end of June. In keeping with the spirit of sharing and caring, we invited many of our dental colleagues for an afternoon reception at Seven Seas on Nagawicka Lake. A few snapshots from that event are shown here.

Our tradition of care will continue. Bill retired in 1997 and has since passed away, but his guiding principles still inform our practice, and inspire us to serve. We are proud to have reached this milestone of fifty years of dental practice. and we pledge to continue to serve the community and the profession in the years ahead. Thank you... and here's to the next fifty!
